3月31日 Touchscreen Media Center PCCE Pro are showing off a nice picture of a 17" touchscreen Media Center PC.
I saw how well touch screens work with Media Center at Microsoft's Smart Home last year.
In a kitchen situation or in a bedroom it would work really well.
Some of the features:
Pelham Sloane gave EHX attendees the first glimpse of its 17-inch touchscreen with Media Center Edition, and it's pretty slick--a complete computer with touchscreen interface, loaded with MCE, in a very thin package. Just 2 3/4 inches thick, it features four external USB ports, two PCI Express slots, a Compact Flash slot, up to 500 GB of hard drive, and support for 802.11g, Bluetooth, Z-Wave and EV-DO/Edge (cellular broadband). Available in many configurations, it retails for about $2,200-$3,200 (including mount) and is oh so close to shipping. Microsoft Demos SideShow for Media Center RemoteCE Pro have a nice picture of a Media Center remote using SideShow on the remote.
Sideshow is the auxiliary display technology that is coming in Vista.
I would love to see a real remote doing this, it would make the remote much more intelligent and another way of interacting with Media Center

3月21日 Grand Prix Show #19 is outThe lastest Grand Prix Show is out, this week Jon and I look at the Malaysian GP and look forward to the next race
So checkout our F1 Podcast at http://grandprix.thepodcastnetwork.com/ 3月20日 Media Center Presentation Layer Web Apps will bring in Online Spotlight 2.0Something that is extremely important for developers and content providers of Vista Media Center applications.
Media Center Presentation layer applications (basically native Media Center apps) can run over http as web apps.
Why is this important? Well it means no more HTML application for Online Spotlight (unless they are designed XP Media Center). The new bread of Online Spotlight applications should look and feel part of Media Center rather than a static web pages. Just looking at the sample applications you get an idea of how rich the new platform is and it won't be restricted to Online Spotlight apps, anybody can write these apps and host them on there own web sites.
The Presentation layer should also work on extenders like the XBOX 360, so here you have a route to write rich applications hosted on your web site and available in the home on Media Center PC's and XBOX 360's

Great work Charlie! 3月13日 Channel browser in VistaMatt Goyer has a nice picture of the Channel browser in Vista, which you can use the up down arrows to look at what is on on the other channels with out leaving the current channel . My TV does it now so it will be nice to see Vista catch up with that but I do tend to use the guide screen to pick what I want to watch

3月9日 One Voice Technologies joins the showI am really pleased to announce that One Voice Technologies has joined the Media Center Show as a sponsor.
I want Softsled for OrigamiI have just been watching the Origami channel 9 video, they look great devices not unlike my HP TC1100 just slightly smaller.
I really hope that the the eHome team look at getting some of there applications on to the Origmai devices.
At the end of the day they are small form factor Tablet PC's so there is no reason why Media Center could not be included in it.
I would love to use it to control my Media Center PC and browse the guide data from the sofa (like I do now with Webguide) and use it as a portable extender (softsled)
Also in the interview they talked about transferring recorded TV files from Media Center on to the device and how it should just work. What they don't say is if you will still need DVD decoder software installing on it
Check out the video and Microsoft's site for the devices
